The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Cadet Program is a career education program providing knowledge and training for young men and women ages 16-20 interested in a career in law enforcement. Participants will receive hands-on and classroom experience to better prepare themselves for a career in law enforcement.

Under close supervision, cadets will be exposed to various duties including, but not limited to:

  • Administrative Tasks
  • Corrective Services
  • Court Services
  • Dispatch
  • Drill and Cadence
  • Forensic Services
  • Marine Patrol
  • Patrol Services
  • Physical Fitness Regime

Qualified students must be rising seniors and must submit an application. Qualified students must not have any prior or outstanding misdemeanor or felony charges and/or convictions.

To be considered for the program, students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA from junior year (documentation required). Two letters of recommendation (1 personal, 1 professional, and cannot be related) are required for consideration.

Use of controlled substances (without prescriptions), alcohol, tobacco products, or any other illegal substance will not be tolerated.
