RAD Self Defense LogoRape Aggression Defense Systems (R.A.D. Self Defense) teaches basic physical self-defense for women. Certified R.A.D. Instructors will be teaching realistic tactics for women to employ as an option for defending themselves in the event of a situation where their life is in jeopardy.

The objective of R.A.D. according to its founder, Lawrence N. Nadeau is “to develop and enhance the options of self-defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked.”

About the System

The twelve hour class consists of a short lecture, followed by hands on instruction and ends with optional simulations (using protective gear). R.A.D. is offered *at no charge* to any woman in Brunswick County regardless of age (parental consent required for girls under the age of 18).

“I found this course to be extremely useful. I very much appreciate the time the officers took to teach RAD.”

“Instructor dedication was very apparent. Their patience was appreciated and their encouragement very positive!”

“Every woman should take this course. Gives confidence and builds self-respect. Loved it!!”
