In 2012, former Sheriff John W. Ingram, V began the Sheriff’s Tidings of Joy program. Two students from each of the schools in Brunswick County are selected by their SRO, counselors, and parent facilitators to receive Christmas needs and wishes through Tidings of Joy. Gifts are purchased, wrapped up, and delivered to the children’s homes prior to Christmas Eve.
Sheriff Ingram believes all children should have a joyful and magical holiday season. This time of year can be a very sad and stressful time for parents who are struggling to make ends meet. Sheriff Ingram’s desire is to ease that burden so that these families can enjoy the holiday season.
