BCSO Now Offering Deputy Cadet Program

Introducing the BCSO Deputy Cadet Program!

Qualifying rising high school seniors will have an opportunity to learn fundamentals of what it takes to become a law enforcement officer. This program will also serve as a community relations initiative to create positive relationships with law enforcement officers and today’s young adults. Rising seniors may also find this information useful for senior projects.

This four week program will begin on July 10 and will run Monday through Friday until August 4th. The program hours will be 8am – 5pm. Some scheduling may have to be adjusted.

Qualified students must be rising seniors from a target high school (WBHS, NBHS, or SBHS) and must submit an application. Qualified students must not have any prior or outstanding misdemeanor or felony charges and/or convictions. To be considered for the program, students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA from junior year (documentation required). Two letters of recommendation (1 personal, 1 professional, and cannot be related) are required for consideration. Use of controlled substances (without prescriptions), alcohol, tobacco products, or any other illegal substance will not be tolerated.

For more information or to sign up, interested applicants students should contact their high school SRO.

We hope to see a lot of participation in this new and exciting program!
