BCSO Adds Addiction Resources to Website

HelpThe Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office has updated our website to include resources for those who are suffering from addiction, and those who are touched by addiction through a family member or friend.  The new page is made up of  information for treatment options, support options, and other resources  related to addiction or mental health.  Many of these organizations have been actively involved in our recent series of town hall meetings, which were facilitated by Sheriff John Ingram, in an effort to bring awareness to the community about the growing heroin epidemic in our area and beyond.

Sheriff Ingram hopes that adding this list to the website, and continuing to update it as we learn of more resources in our area, will give those who need and want help an easy place to go to explore options for treatment and support.  We invite those who may offer services of this nature, who were not included on the new page, to reach out to the sheriff’s office so that we can keep the list of options growing.

Sheriff Ingram is grateful to the community and to the substance abuse and mental health organizations who have so fervently assisted the sheriff’s office in raising awareness regarding this important issue.  It is only in collaborating with community and organizations such as these that we have any hope of saving lives and ending this heroin epidemic.

The new page can be found on the homepage of the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office website under the “Resources” tab and clicking on “Addiction Help”.
